I had the pleasure of meeting Whitney and Kevin through a mutual friend who gifted them a maternity session. Whitney and I chatted several times on the phone before I ventured down to Lompoc. I drove down the night before and tried to do some scouting of the area before our session the following day. The day of the shoot I drove around Lompoc "The city of Arts and Flowers" looking for some great spots and came across a lovely orchard that was set off of one of the main roads leading into the downtown area. I called to let Whitney know of the location and we started the session there....under the trees on this spring afternoon. Whitney and Kevin had such a great connection to each other but also to their little guy. So after the orchard we found an older historic building in downtown. I wanted to try to capture who they are as couple but also the place that would be home to them when their baby arrived....the feel of the city. So just before the sunset Kevin took us out to a beautiful park where the remainder of the photos where taken.

We chatted, hugged and I followed them out to the location on the highway I would take to get home. That was just as the sun was setting and so we found a place to park and walked up a hill and captured the most beautiful sunset. This baby could not be more loved by these two lovely people who I had the chance to photography. Thanks Whitney and Kevin for trusting me with such a special time in the life of your family.
